It should always be ensured that not too many snap modes are activated at the same time. This can limit the functionality due to the fact that the possible snap points interfere with each other.

Snaps can also be equipped with different priorities.

The use of the snap modes and the setting of priorities must be set by each user for themselves in order to find the optimum for their own working method.

For faster access to the snap tools, it is possible to create a corresponding toolbar on the edge of the screen. Here, as already explained in chapter 2.1.2, you can apply your own selection of snap tools or use the standard "Snap Modes" toolbar.

The “No Snap” command automatically disables all snap tools. If this is activated, there are no snap modes available. If the lowest selection point "Turn "No Snap" mode off if any snap is activated" is selected in the "Drawing Aids" menu (Figure 4-8), the command "No Snap" will automatically switch off as soon as a snap mode is manually activated.

Also, via the "SNAP" button, which is located in the “Status Bar”, all snap modes can be switched on or off at once. Please note that the command "No Snap" and the button "SNAP" are not linked; they can be turned off individually. However, if one of them is turned off, there will be no snap modes available. There is no added value in this unusual division of one function into two different buttons. This just creates confusion. If no snap modes are available, both the "No Snap" command and the "SNAP" button must be checked to see if either of them has been deactivated.

A third way to apply snap options is explained below.

While a drawing command is already active, individual snaps can still be changed if too many others automatically appear in the area in which an object is to be snapped. If, for example, you have set the starting point of a line and want to use only a special snap mode for the end point, you can select it by right-clicking, and choosing the desired snap mode in the "Local Snap" menu. Only this selected snap will be then offered. If this snap mode is then executed, the selection is resolved, and all other snap modes become available again. Keyboard shortcuts can be used to speed up the selection of snap modes and thus the workflow.
